Review:
I am ending this year today and I am starting new today. August 1st is the new year for sports. You start with preseason football and you start to feel the tingles of the best four month stretch of the year. August is really the prep and preseason for gamblers. As a true degenerate you bet on the preseason and you are still sprinkling baseball. This is the month to get your mind right and get ready for fall.
To sum up this past year it has been shit. Really fucking shit. I lost a shit ton on these picks. I guess I did ok on the NFL/CFB not really great I was down I think around 10u’s. It hurts that I don’t count futures which I think will change next season. I had Chiefs 10/1 for a full unit at the end of the regular season which didn’t count and I also had a massive Packers win total that also didn’t count. I did miss a future or two in CFB but nothing compared to those two NFL bets. So overall I wasn’t down that bad during football season. College basketball I had a run or two but still nothing great and I was down a tad bit heading into the tourney. I started off atrocious with Miss State and I think overall I was down in this shit in the tourney but again futures saved me. I had UConn to win it all pre tourney their odds weren’t crazy but still a winner. I also had a Purdue/UConn final future which was nice at 10/1. I had a few longshot futures lose but I hit a massive NC State final four at 40/1. That is the bet of the year for me and probably my life. I only took like 2/3 final four’s too so I wasn’t playing every fucking team. I don’t think I can match that ever again. Overall though for this I was down in the tourney I believe. I made a run to get close back to even during NBA/NHL/MLB but then it fell apart again. I kept getting rinsed when I was sick and I need to learn from that. I wasn’t terrible in the NBA but nothing great. I also had a Mavs future which looked great until the finals and even that at 20/1 is pretty impressive before the playoffs started. I had Panthers to win the Stanley Cup at 6/1 which was nice. I only took two teams that playoffs. MLB was not great. I didn’t get hot and I am currently down which says it all.
Overall what I learned from this year is I need to add futures. I have to. I am a futures guy. I am pretty solid at futures. I need to be better for Underia. I let Underia down this year. I am disgusted by my performance. I am truly disgusted by the spots I took. I ended dead even for the record and for gambling that is losing. I got rinsed by the vig and didn’t pick the right spots to double my units. That’s that. That’s this sports season summed up. I promise. I fucking promise this time next year I will be positive.
