Pounding Picks Day 2

ASU vs NAU Under 52 W

Result: That game went just as expected. Started off slow in the first and ended running out the clock. It was a little worrying in that middle part of the game but I knew it would slow towards the end. I should have just bet ASU too. I knew that the NAU team was filled with freshmen and wasn’t the same team that beat U of A last year. Winner nonetheless.

Duke at Temple Pick Duke -9 1u -110

I like this Duke team. I wish I would have taken them earlier in the week at -7 but I still like them at -9. Two new head coaches both looking to have some sort of success in their first year. Both teams were atrocious last year but one was in the ACC and the other in the AAC which matters. I think this game comes down to talent and Duke has the better talent. Both coaches are managing programs that are in the dumps but when you look at who has the better talent and better chance at winning this game it’s Duke. They have the better QB, better coach, and better program and should win this game by double digits at home.

Stats That Matter:

Owls are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games on grass

Owls are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games

Blue Devils are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. AAC

Temple are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games played in week 1

Duke are 7-2 in their last 9 games played in week 1

Illinois at Indiana Pick Indiana -1 1u -115

The best game of the day so that means we have to bet it. This falls under the “I have to bet on this game because I love gambling and watching big games.” I like Indiana. The line shifting from -3 to now at -1 is a little worrying but I believe in this Indiana team. Indiana got better in the offseason and they should be able to have some sort of offense compared to last year. I think that even though Illinois dominated last week they played a really bad Wyoming team and not having as much rest will definitely play a factor. Indiana usually wins the games they need to win like this one and also just having more time to prepare are the keys for why they win this game.

Stats That Matter:

Home team is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings

Illinois are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Friday games

Illinois are 0-6 SU in their last 6 games played in September

Illinois are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games against Indiana

Indiana are 13-3 SU in their last 16 games played in week 1
